Graduates of The Ursuline School are confident, socially-conscious and articulate women. They are responsive to the needs of others in accordance with the Ursuline tradition of Serviam - I will serve.

These Ursuline graduates think critically and become effective ethical decision-makers in today's complex society. They have been encouraged by Ursuline’s dedicated teachers to discover and realize their talents so that they may exercise responsible leadership in ever widening circles.

Ursuline graduates are engaged in exploring real-world issues using a variety of digital tools and resources to solve authentic problems. Our graduates are prepared for the world beyond Ursuline to be active, global citizens in an increasingly culturally diverse world.

Susan Antilla, Journalist and Author

Susan, Class of 1972, earned a master's in journalism from NYU and reports on business and the economy. She has been a columnist at Bloomberg View, The New York Times, TheStreet.com and USA Today. Her reporting has won a number of journalism awards. Susan also wrote an expose of the culture of sexual harassment on Wall Street, Tales from the Boom-Boom Room. Her book garnered wide acclaim.

Jennifer Blum, Astrophysicist

Jennifer, Class of 2002, earned her bachelor's from Columbia and her PhD in astronomy and astrophysics from University of Michigan. She was a Rackham Science Award Fellow. Her expertise is in black holes. Dr. Blum is now a data scientist working in Washington DC. Jennifer serves as President-Elect for the Association for Women in Science (AWIS) DC Metro chapter. As an artistic outlet, she does professional voice acting in radio commercials.

Alex Ferguson, Entrepreneur

Alex, Class of 1999, is the creator of Alexandra Ferguson recycled felt applique pillows and other home decor items which are made from environmentally friendly materials. Her products are sold in over 700 stores globally. Her style has been described in The New York Times, House Beautiful, and Real Simple as "bold typography and sassy wit." Her company not only produces in the U.S., she is committed to championing the growing domestic manufacturing movement.

Danielle Cetani, French Wine Scholar

Danielle, Class of 1997, studied and lived throughout Europe and then settled in Hong Kong. She worked for an international wine merchant. Danielle earned an advanced certificate from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust and focused on fine wine auctions. As an Auction Director, Danielle oversaw a team of 12 that sourced fine and rare wines around the world, brought them to auction, and sold to buyers.

Susana Rodrigues, Gastroenterologist

Susana, Class of 2000, completed medical school at the University of Porto in Portugal and a fellowship in liver transplantation at the Royal Free Hospital in London, England. She is now enrolled in a PhD program at the University of Bern in Switzerland. Her research focus is noninvasive methods to detect liver cirrhosis. Susana grew up in Portugal. She speaks English and Portuguese fluently and is now learning German.

Nancy Bolan, Global Health Researcher

Nancy, Class of 1983, currently works in Kinshasa, the capital city of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, in the heart of Central Africa. Using her background as a Family Nurse Practitioner, she conducts research with a U.S. based non-governmental nonprofit, IMA World Health. Nancy also co-manages another nonprofit, StandProud, which works to increase mobility and independence of children with lower limb paralysis.

Ieisha Woolridge, Captain, U.S. Army Reserves

Ieisha, Class of 1997, holds a bachelor's in criminal justice and a master’s in health administration. Her deployments have included service in Iraq and Kuwait, as well as domestically. She has served in non-combat roles including Education Programs Manager, Senior Human Resources Officer and Operations Officer. Her awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.

Meggan Walsh, Commercial Real Estate Executive

Meggan, Class of 1975, earned her BA in English and Politics, then attended the London School of Economics while working in Parliament. She holds a certificate from NYU in Real Estate Finance and professional designations from several industry groups. In her role as Deputy Group Head and Managing Director of CIT Real Estate Finance at a major bank, she coordinates a team of loan origination, underwriting, and portfolio management specialists. She is a long-standing member of the invitation-only association Women Executives in Real Estate.

Maria-Christina Oliveras, Broadway Actor

Maria-Christina, Class of 1997, earned her bachelor’s in theater studies from Yale and her master’s in Fine Arts from the National Theatre Conservatory in Denver. She has starred in three world premieres of Broadway musicals, most recently, Amelie. She also works in television and film as actor, singer, and voice-over artist, and she has worked with Al Pacino, Bill Murray, and Cameron Diaz. She is adjunct professor at Yale, Fordham, and at the Stella Adler Conservatory.
